Here's a great electric guitar album by one of Nashville's most talented and highly overlooked musicians: Jackie Phelps. Jackie played with lots of different artists over the years, but is probably best remembered for his "hambonin" with Jimmie Riddle on Hee Haw. I hope that you'll enjoy this album. Thanks to Robert for the use of this album.

ReplyDeleteThank you for all the starday records, really great stuff
ReplyDeleteGeez, weren't there some recordings of Jimmy Riddle & Jackie Phelps doing that Hambone-Huffing stuff? I seem to recall Dling a few that got lost on my last crashed HD. Sure would love to find that stuff again. Reminds me of Cliff Edwards 'vocalizing' on cuts like 'If you Knew Suzie', imitating a horn solo.
